Liverpool mother gives birth to identical triplets beating odds of 200m-1
Little Roman, Rocco and Rohan Tierney already came as a surprise to their mother, Becki-Jo Allen from Liverpool - but her shock was complete when she found out the adorable trio are identical. Fortunately for their 23-year-old mother, tell-tale features plus the ten-month-old triplets' emerging personalities mean she for one has no trouble telling them apart.

Now thriving at home after spending six weeks in intensive care, little Roman, Rocco and Rohan had another surprise in store for Becki-Jo Allen, however.
After being told how similar they looked by other mums, she sent off samples of DNA to be tested – and she has now been told that against odds of up to an incredible 200 million to one, the naturally conceived trio are identical.

The triplets' mother Becki-Jo Allen (pictured with the triplets and her daughter Indiana) was shocked to find out the three little cuties are all identical

Fortunately for their 23-year-old mother, tell-tale features plus the ten-month-old triplets’ emerging personalities mean she for one has no trouble telling them apart.
‘When they were newborns it was quite hard to tell which one was which, but I never got them mixed up myself,’ she said yesterday.
‘They’ve all got dark birthmarks between their eyebrows, but Roman’s is slightly darker than the others’, and Rohan has got a birthmark on his leg as well

'You can't legislate against human stupidity, If you go in swimming at 10 o'clock at night, you're going to get consumed,' says Warren Enstch, Queensland representative
A woman has gone missing after being attacked by a crocodile during a late night swim with a friend just off an Australian beach.

The two women were in shallow water at Thornton Beach in Daintree National Park in Queensland when one was taken by the crocodile at 10.30pm.
Police say the missing woman's friend tried to grab her and drag her to safety but wasn't able to do so.
The two women, aged 46 and 47, were not locals and might not have known the beach was a crocodile habitat, police have suggested.
Local Queensland representative, Warren Entsch, said the pair must have seen the many crocodile warning signs in the region.
He added: "You can't legislate against human stupidity, If you go in swimming at 10 o'clock at night, you're going to get consumed."
A rescue helicopter using thermal imaging equipment failed to find any trace of the missing woman on the night of her disappearance.
The search has since been resumed with a helicopter, boat and land-based teams. The missing woman is from Lithgow in New South Wales.
The survivor, from Cairns, 58 miles south of Thornton Beach, was taken to a hospital suffering from shock and a graze to her arm inflicted as the crocodile brushed against her.
Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman Neil Noble said: "The report that we have from the surviving woman is that they felt a nudge and her partner started to scream and then was dragged into the water."

Saudi Arabia Kills Nigerian Man Accused of Murdering A Police Officer In 95th Execution of The Year

Saudi authorities have executed a Nigerian man after convicting him of murdering a police officer.
It was the 95th execution of the year in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom, which imposes the death penalty for offences including murder, drug trafficking, armed robbery, rape and apostasy. The surge in executions has drawn concern from human rights groups.
Fahd Houssawi was executed on Sunday in the western city of Taif, the interior ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency. He had been found guilty of strangling a policeman and beating him to death, the ministry said.

Amnesty International has warned that at the current rate Saudi Arabia could see more than 100 executions in the first half of 2016.
The London-based watchdog said the kingdom carried out at least 158 death sentences last year, making it the third most prolific executioner after Iran and Pakistan. Its figures do not include secretive China.
The executions this year are higher than at the same point last year, Amnesty said.
Murder and drug trafficking cases account for the majority of Saudi executions, although 47 people were put to death for “terrorism” offences on a single day in January.
They included prominent Shia cleric Nimr al-Nimr whose execution prompted Iranian protesters to torch Saudi diplomatic missions, triggering a severing of relations.

Female activist, Dr. Joe Odumakin visited the children and sister of the deceased Mrs. Roseline Sougie, allegedly murdered by her husband, Jafaru, in Oshodi.

A 49-year-old man, Jafaru Sougie, pictured above allegedly killed his wife of 26 years yesterday at Araromi Street in Oshodi area of Lagos State.
Jafaru reportedly slit his wife’s throat with a knife around 2am but she was discovered dead at 4am by one of their children named Richmond and his aunt who raised the alarm. The suspect poisoned himself thereafter and was vomiting in the bathroom when Richmond woke up. .
.
Punch reports the Edo State indigene was reportedly rescued from a mob by policemen from the Akinpelu division and was rushed to a hospital while the wife’s corpse was deposited in a morgue. Forty-six-year-old Roseline sold frozen foods in the Ijora area and was said to be the breadwinner of the family as the killer husband was jobless. Saturday PUNCH gathered that Jafaru had serially assaulted Roseline on the grounds of being unfaithful. .

Pictured is Dr. Odumakin speaking to the children as they listened in rapt attention. Another pic below;

Apart from the infidelity allegation, he reportedly beat the mother of five children for collecting gifts from her relatives for the upkeep of the family. Richmond, 16, told their correspondent that he could not explain what came over his father to have committed the act, saying he started behaving strangely afterwards. .
.
He said: “My three siblings, our aunt and I slept in the living room while dad and mum were inside. Around 4am, dad called me from the bathroom. I went to meet him but he did not say anything. I went outside to urinate and when I came back, I checked the bathroom and saw him lying down, vomiting some black substance and excreting on his body. I think he poisoned himself. I told my aunt to wake mum up to attend to him. But she didn’t wake up.

“I shone a flashlight on her and saw blood on the bed with a wide cut in her neck. I fainted when we discovered she was dead. We later asked dad how it happened, he said somebody entered and did it whereas the compound gate is always locked in the night.
“It was mum that took care of us. She was the one sponsoring my elder brother, Collins, who just gained admission into a university in Abia State. I don’t know our fate now.

A crowd besieged Araromi Street in Oshodi area of Lagos State on Friday after a 49-year-old man, Jafaru Sougie, allegedly killed his wife of 26 years. The suspect was said to have poisoned himself thereafter and was vomiting in the bathroom when one of their children, Richmond, woke up. Jafaru had reportedly slit the wife’s throat with a knife around 2am but she was discovered dead at 4am by Richmond and his aunt who raised the alarm.

“Our family had warned him to stop beating her. He didn’t have any work and she was the one feeding him and paying the rent. Anytime she collected gifts from her relatives, he quarrelled with her. He would accuse her of sleeping with men and beat her up. There was a time he took her to our village in Edo State to swear whether she was cheating on him or not and she did.
“Yesterday (Thursday) he demanded N10,000 from the wife, saying he wanted to travel. She was trying to raise the money from her friends. But I don’t know whether that was the immediate cause of the incident.”
A neighbour, Simeon Nnoron, said he had tried to prevail over Jafaru to stop assaulting the deceased to no avail, adding that he suspected he was on drug and wanted to use the woman for rituals.

Roselin’s elder  sister,  Mrs. Kate Yakubu, said she had wanted to divorce the husband two years ago but was enjoined to rescind the decision. She said,

“They fought two years ago because he wanted her to stop selling the frozen foods. During the argument, he held her in the neck and removed strands of hair from her head with his teeth. She left the house for a week to live with his brother in Masasa. She wanted to quit the marriage but we begged her not to because of the children. There was a time he said he smelt sperm in her pants after she returned from Seme where she normally bought goods.”

The Deputy spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, DSP Damasus Ozoani, said the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

“It was a murder case and the husband was suspected to be under the influence of drug. The case has been transferred to the SCID and investigation has commenced,” he said.

Ella says how she always wanted a large family and had her first child Abbie, now 13, at the age of 18 with a chIldhood sweetheart.
After the relationship broke down, Ella met husband Ian in 2005. A year later, the pair started dating and decided they both wanted a big family.

'Going into hospital to have a baby should have been the best moment of my life,' she said. 'Instead my world has been shattered.
'I was an active mum doing the school runs and chasing my family around the garden. Now I'm the complete opposite.
'I might never be able to run after my children, or stand next to them. No human being should ever have to experience this after it could have so easily been avoided.'

Untold Story Of The Ego War In PDP: "Fayose Is Not Fit To Be Anybody’s VP"– Sheriff

$

Opening up for the first time since his war with PDP Governor’s started, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has said that all the excuses being given by the Governors as reason for their plot to remove him were laughable and lack any common sense.

Talking exclusively to our correspondent, against the background of what led to his fight with the governors, the former Borno State Governor said he never mentioned to anybody that he wants to be President in 2019 and could not have offered the vice Presidential slot to Ayodele Fayoshe, because he familiar with the Ekiti State Governor’s antecedents and character.

According to him, “I am eminently qualified to seek for the presidency of Nigeria, but I have never told anybody I want to be President, but even if I want to be I cannot offer such a sensitive position to a character like Ayo Fayose, who has exhibited gross disrespect for others”.

The PDP leader said, it was not true that he made promises to any of the Governors, rather, he tried to tolerate them as stakeholders, knowing that none of them can manipulate, bribe or dominate him to do only their biddings in a party as big as the PDP, with so many big names on parade.

Challenging any of those who alleged that he made promises to come up with a single proof of any commitment he made to them or anybody for that matter, stressing, I am by far their senior and I have done all these things they think they can do in the party, but I do not deserve the type of treatment they want to mete out to me”.

Sheriff said he is too experienced to serve as somebody’s Man Friday, or hatchet man, rather he was being humble because that is the only way he can win back the confidence of people in the party, as he was only interested in returning the PDP to its former glory.

Meanwhile, national TRAIL has been investigating Sheriffs war with the Governors and reports that, three months or there about ago, following the removal of Rt. Hon. Uche Secondus as acting chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP from office, names of prospective replacement for Adamu Mu’azu were forwarded to the National Executive Committee of the party. Initially, the name of former governor of Borno State Senator Ali Modu Sheriff was not there. Rather, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff nominated former minister of the FCT, Mohammed Abba Gana from Borno State, but endorsed the then Zonal Vice Chairman, Girgiri Lawan from Yobe State and who was apparently the consensus candidate from the northeast.

National Trail observed that, owing to the fact that, the party was still convulsing and there was the need for the party to have someone with both political and financial muscle to administer the affairs of the party, governors and members of the National Executive Committee begs Modu Sheriff to steer the affairs of the party.

It was gathered that Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike coordinated the sudden choice of Sheriff, before other governors later joined the fight to create a new power caucus. Their ultimate target is to have the party’s leadership under their firm control. The governors believe that the control of the structure of the party will help them to determine those to admit and how to influence the trend of internal politics towards 2019.

They are just out to dictate the pace for strategic reasons and part of the grand plans for 2019. Another reason these governors, led by Wike, Fayose, Henry Seriake- Dickson (Bayelsa) and Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo), opted for Sheriff because they think as a key stakeholder behind the merger of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he can help decimate the governing party. The politics of choosing Sheriff is a stop-gap politics targeted at infiltrating APC. Sheriff boasts that he knows the secrets of APC. They want to use the ex-governor of Borno State as a rallying point for political realignment in 2019.
National Trail reports that, prior to his coming, PDP was hit by leadership crises at all levels and the party’s leadership crisis picked up after Adamu Mu’azu stepped down as the party’s national chairman, when he could no longer hold the boat in the wave that seemed heading for a wreckage. The Wadata House was virtually left open to whosoever cares to stick his neck in the troubled waters. It was a major confusion with every PDP member waking up from sleep to head for the Wadata House to self proclaim the chairmanship position only to vacate the seat when the heat becomes unbearable for another to take the next day. There was a backlog of unpaid salaries and other indebtedness staring at any bold character that steps forward to claim the seat at the green, white and red building. Many who walked into the building came out sweating and with their tail in-between their legs they left. The governors who seemed to have all the muscles are in no position to preside in their states as well as hold the position for their interest in the future. It was at this twist that they approach Sheriff Their position conveyed to an end, a seven months rule of Prince Uche Secondus as acting chairman of the opposition party. The governors, after their meeting in Abuja they approached Prince Secondus to hand over the party’s administration to the current National Secretary, Prof. Adewale Oladipo. They additionally censured the attack of the political group’s national secretariat by an associate of the previous President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak, who is driving a group of the party members in the continuous crisis. Going by the governors’ position, Prince Secondus will return to his unique position as a deputy national chairman.
However, the leadership crisis escalated following the emergence of Ali Modu Sheriff as the party’s Acting National Chairman. The governors on the party’s platform and National Working Committee (NWC) members clashed with the Board of Trustees (BoT), states chairmen and senators from the South-South and South-East geo-political zones. It was gathered that persons loyal to the former president rejected Sheriff’s choice after the party’s governors and NWC members accepted him. But Sheriff turns out to be the man they have all been waiting for, when he began to put the piece together assuring the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC that, he has come to change – the change come 2019.
This was believed did not go down well with the ruling party knowing the person of Sheriff and his political capabilities. It was also gathered that, some individuals who sees Sheriff as a threat to the 2019 election set mechanism in motion to make the seat even more hotter for him but despite their schemes both within and from the ruling party, which is believed to be using certain individual from within did not seemed to be having effect on Sheriff’s leadership of the major opposition party in the country.

Within one month, the bit and pieces of PDP was being put together. The salaries of staff were paid and debts cleared. The morale of members went high and the party once again is becoming the darling of Nigerians. But the decision which was part of efforts to bring the party back on track was jeopardized when crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) assumed a new dimension with governors under the platform of the party, dumping Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff as the National Chairman of the party.

Their grudge with Sheriff even after the BoT’s vote of confidence on him to continue in office until 2018 follows their individual political interest. The governors believe that, Sheriff will nurse the ambition of contesting the Presidency in 2019; as such both Fayose and Wike developed interest of becoming running mates to Sheriff presidential dream even when Sheriff had not showed interest to run. Mimiko whose tenure ends in November is also nursing the ambition of becoming the party’s national chairman and wants to strike a deal with Sheriff to seal his ambition at the time his tenure as governor will end.
All of them were wrong about Sheriff. By the time they all realized that Sheriff won’t be easily wooed and not one they can toy with to satisfy their political dream in 2019, the tune of their songs for Sheriff started changing, thus bringing the party to the present state of affair.

Having perfected all plans to deal with Sheriff, the same from among them, the betrayal sneak out to inform the chairman of their next move, this was to disgrace Sheriff at the convention. That however, also failed owing to a Federal High Court order stopping the PDP convention last Saturday. Although the Wike, Fayose group had joined the aegis of Concerned PDP Stakeholders Forum, led by Prof Jerry Gana, who earlier held a parallel national convention in Abuja, to form a new caretaker under former governor of Kaduna State, Ahmad Makarfi, their efforts met a brick wall when the court failed to recognize Makarfi, the new caretaker chairman but Sheriff.

Meanwhile, gladiators in the ongoing crises rocking the PDP are seen sneaking into the Maitama resident of the former Borno state governor to pay homage and loyalty. Some of them confesses to the fact that, they were deceived into joining the other group but have return to the fold to back Sheriff in his effort at repositioning the party to capture power in 2019.
But whether or not their coming back to join with the Sheriff is for the good of the PDP or sneaking to further create avenue for more trouble for the party. One thing is certain. The crises as it is now may make or mare the PDP chances in the build up for 2019. The ruling APC seemed to be enjoying the mood and is watching development in the PDP. In the days ahead, the situation will either call for the total reconciliation of the party or its complete disintegration

At Last, EFCC Found $20b 'Missing Oil Fund' Alarmed By Emir Sanusi, You'll Be Shocked Where

Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor SanusiLamido Sanusi (now Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II) raised the alarm that there was an estimated $20bn shortfall in oil revenues due to the treasury from the state oil company which might have been spent illegally.

In a related development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission( EFCC) has traced the diversion of the substantial part of the missing $20billion oil cash  to the 2015 electioneering campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), The Nationa News Paper reports

The anti-graft agency discovered how the cash was transferred and wired into secret accounts for political purposes.

It was learnt that the EFCC has made “ appreciable progress” in recovering a huge chunk of the cash.

The EFCC latest discovery is said to be part of the ongoing “comprehensive” probe of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

A source close to the investigator, said: “We have tracked a substantial part of the missing $20billion about which the former CBN Governor raised the alarm.

“From our findings, the oil money was diverted. We will soon make the details available.

“As for those being invited for interrogation on campaign funds, we have been able to establish that the amounts in question were strictly government funds.

“Whatever noise anyone is making is baseless. We are determined to recover these funds from all the beneficiaries.

“Some of the suspects have refunded the cash credited to them and some still have outstanding funds to pay.”

The highly-placed source said the EFCC was not targeting PDP leaders at all.

He said if there is any evidence of government funds spent on the campaign of other political parties, we will “investigate too”.

In 2014, Sanusi told members of the Senate Committee on Finance at the National Assembly in Abuja that $20billion was missing.

He said: “It is established that of the $67 billion crude shipped by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), between January 2012 and July 2013, $47 billion was remitted to the Federation Account.”

“It is now up to NNPC, given all the issues raised, to produce the proof that the $20billion unremitted either did not belong to the Federation or was legally and constitutionally spent.”

Mrs Alison-Madueke denied that $20billion was missing.

She said: “When the former CBN Governor came up with the allegation that about $49.8bn of crude oil sales proceeds were not remitted by NNPC, we swung into action with all the relevant agencies to reconcile the figures.

“When we reconciled the figures down to $10.8bn and some agencies were having a different figure of $12bn, we insisted that the reconciliation must continue because there was still an anomaly; we said we must get down to the bottom of the matter to find out what is really amiss.

“We appeared before the Senator Makarfi Commttee to defend ourselves over the fresh allegation of unremitted $20bn. We put our papers forward. The Makarfi Committee then went through all the evidence supplied by all the relevant agencies and found that there was no missing $20billion.

“Despite the fact that the Makarfi Committee declared that no money was missing, the opposition kept insisting that $20bn was missing and they were calling us names.”

While receiving APC chieftains from Adamawa in April 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari promised to probe the whereabouts of the $20billion.

He said: “Going by the huge sum of money involved, there was no way an APC-led administration that has the fight against corrupt practices as a cardinal objective would sit by and watch some highly placed Nigerians loot the treasury.”
