After 23 Years In California Prison, Yakubu Gowon's Son, Musa Jack Ngonadi Gowon., Granted Clemency By Obama(

Former Nigerian President, General Yakabu Gowon in the course of the Nigerian civil war met Musa's mum Edith Ike Okongwu(of blessed memory)

One thing led to another and Musa Jack Ngonadi Gowon. was given birth to

To many skeptics and nay sayers out there, Musa is not the real son of Gowon, this information is not true and inaccurate because the old man Gowon has acknowledged in different fora that Musa is his son whom he is proud of  Young Musa later relocated to US with his deceased mum Edith,a decision he took to better his lot in Life

On November 18, 1992, agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the United States Customs Service arrested Musa, Jack Spencer, for conspiring to import in excess of one kilogram of heroin.
Jack Musa Gowon who was 23 years old at that time was sentenced to 40 years imprisonment  for the allegation of smuggling  heroin from source countries,1 such as Thailand or Burma, via non-source countries, such as Switzerland or Austria
Jack Musa Gowon protested vehemently through his legal team  that he was innocent and was framed up and his protest were ignored by the Jury  and rather  was harshly  sentenced to 324 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Musa timely appealed, challenging the admission into evidence of the Hotel Guide, the sufficiency of the evidence supporting his conviction, and the district court's upward adjustment of his base offense level on the basis that he was an organizer or leader in the conspiracy
When the appeal to quash his conviction failed, Musa took that decision  in his stride believing that  set back like this is not the end of his life
As an inmate of Taft Correctional Facility, Musa Jack Gowon was a role model and a legal adviser to all the inmates
He was well behaved and a source of inspiration  to co- inmates  who had   given up on life

The prison warden  loved and worshiped the ground he trod on

Permit me to mention that Musa  enrolled in one of the universities around and successfully graduated with a degree in Law as a prison inmate

This commendable act of Leadership did not go unnoticed and he was rewarded severally by prison authorities
While all these were going on, Musa's  family  never stopped fighting to get him out of prison and calls for his release began to grow louder
Happy to report that President Obama heeded to the calls for Musa's release and acted in that regard by granting him a parole

Musa walked out of Taft Correctional Facility Bakersfield California as a free man on November 2nd  and he is currently at  ICE Detention Center Bakersfield CA where he will be deported back to Nigeria any moment from now
Musa Jack Ngonaadi is grateful to his Dad, General Yakubu Gowon, his friends and his relatives from his maternal side who  stood by him and supported him also all through the period of his unjust  incarceration that he did not commit the crime he was wrongly accused of
Musa will narrate his own side of the story very soon and he is grateful to God who kept him alive and well to see this day

Nigeria Vs Mali: FIFA U-17 World Cup Final On Sunday

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.

Three weeks ago, 24 teams from six confederations arrived in South America to contest the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015. Fifty-two matches later it has been confirmed that an African side will definitely lift the trophy, while Belgium and Mexico will seek to end their campaign on a high note by winning bronze before the tournament showpiece gets underway. FIFA.com looks ahead to the final day of competition.

The final

Mali-Nigeria, Vina Del Mar, 19.00 (local time)

Two teams from the same confederation will go toe-to-toe in the final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup for the first time in 22 years and ten editions of the tournament, after CAF sides Ghana and Nigeria met in the final back in 1993. The Golden Eaglets secured the second of their four World Cup crowns with a 2-1 victory that day. “It’s very important for African football and incredible that something like this has only happened once before,” said Nigeria’s Orji Okwonkwo in eager anticipation of this continental showdown, where the record champions could become the second team to defend their title on Sunday evening after Brazil triumphed in 1997 and 1999.

Although the Nigerians have ample experience of these showdowns, Sunday night’s game will mark the first time a Malian side has reached the final of any FIFA tournament. After the country’s third-place finish at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand a few weeks ago, coach Bayer Ba’s squad have gone one step further in Chile. “Let me tell you straight: you build up an appetite by eating,” he explained before the last four. Mali’s passage to the final has surely increased this hunger even further.

While Nigeria hold a clear lead in the head-to-head record between the two nations’ senior sides with four wins, three draws and just one defeat to their name, Mali have the edge when it comes to youth football. When hosting the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 1999, the Golden Eaglets were forced to throw in the towel in the quarter-finals as Les Aiglonnets beat them 3-1.

Match for third place
Belgium-Mexico, Vina Del Mar, 16.00 (local time)

The track records of these two teams could hardly be more different ahead of their first meeting at youth level. In one corner stand the Belgians, who have already exceeded all expectations. After qualifying for the Round of 16 as one of the best third-place group finishers, the Europeans improved from one match to the next and proved to be worthy adversaries to Mali in the last four.

Waiting in the other corner are the Mexicans, who have just lost a FIFA U-17 World Cup semi-final for the first time after becoming champions in 2011 and contesting the decider two years ago. El Tri were defeated 4-2 by Nigeria in one of the most exciting matches of this tournament in Chile – but the result could easily have been different. “Both teams had chances. Unfortunately we didn’t score, Nigeria did. This was the difference – but that’s football,” coach Mario Arteaga said succinctly after the game.

Player to watch
Dante Rigo (Belgium)

Les Diablotins’ midfielder moved up into top gear in the knockout stages to become one of the main contributors to Belgium’s first semi-final appearance at a FIFA U-17 World Cup. He shone as a provider of goals in the 2-0 win over Korea Republic before scoring to give his side a 1-0 lead in both their 1-0 triumph over Costa Rica and their 3-1 defeat by Mali. Although his strike was ultimately not enough against the African champions, Rigo and the rest of Bob Browaeys’ squad have had plenty to celebrate during their time in Chile.

The stat

3 – While it seems almost certain that Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen will collect the adidas Golden Boot as best goalscorer of the tournament with nine strikes so far, a head-to-head battle has emerged for the lower steps on this particular podium. The Golden Eaglets’ Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze, Mali’s Sidiki Maiga and Belgian Rigo are all tied on three goals each with one game left to play. Currently ahead of this quartet with four goals is Germany’s Johannes Eggestein, whose team were eliminated by Croatia in the Round of 16.

The words

"Playing at a World Cup is an experience to treasure for life. You never know whether you’ll get to play at another one. Unfortunately our title dreams are now over, but we still have a chance to take home a medal. We’ll now give it everything against Belgium so that we can end the tournament on a high note," Mexico midfielder Diego Cortes.

5 Reasons Why The Golden Eaglet Will Not Lift The Trophy In Chile

1. The malians are unbeaten in this competition. They have won 5 of their overall matches and drew one, while the eaglets won 5 and lost one. you see that the malians have high odds of beaten the eaglets.

2. Remember, the golden eaglets are the defending champions UAE 2013 ,so lifting the trophy back to back may as well witch haunt us, like that of the Uefa Champions league, no team club have lifted it back to back, you know what i mean,

3. The Golden eaglets and the Malian teams are two big rivals, remember when the pair met at the under17 African championship finale, they comfortably did beaten us hands down on a penalty shoot-out and hence won the Trophy. If care, is not taken such scenario may repeat itself.

4. This is the first time the Malians are getting their hands near a trophy on the international level, and they may not likely want to let it slip off their hands. Malians are very dangerous opponent, bring on any other team at this level, i would say yes, buh! Malians fear them.

5. The golden eaglets have won this trophy 4 times, the 4 trophies were mainly won on the ASIAN SOIL or continent, so, the golden eaglets have never won this competition outside Asia. So you see where the malians have their advantage over eaglets. So, with this stats you see that the malians will do better in this competition. So, as a Nigerian lets pray very well to make sure we beat the Malians, Meanwhile , defiling all odds of this stat. Thank you. Lets support the eaglets.

When Things Fall Apart In A Family - Sister Blinded By Brothers In Family Crises [Photo+Video]

''Barrister Olusegun A. Alalade and Mr. Babasanjo Alalade blinds their youngest Sister
Barrister Olusegun Alalade (Mr.), who is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAN) and also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), two esteemed organizations, led a brutal attack with a group of hired thugs and hooligans, on his own siblings in their family estate at Ladipo Oluwole Avenue, Off Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.

Olusegun Alalade and Babasanjo Alalade, both, fraudulently claim to be Administrators to the Estate of Late Chief Daniel Okunola ALALADE, the former Asiwaju of Ada, who died on the 6th of January 2008. Over the years, these two tyrants have continuously looted and misappropriated funds within the Estate. Several family elders have been trying to resolve these issues to no avail.

Olusegun Alalade and Babasanjo Alalade, were served by a court bailiff from the Lagos State High Court on Friday 30th October 2015, for an action on Intermeddling with the Estate of Late Chief Daniel Okunola Alalade. This immediately resulted to violence from this learned fellow and Babasanjo Alalade.
During the attack which happened on Sunday 1st November 2015, barely two days after been served by the court bailiff, Barrister Olusegun Alalade hit the youngest child of the house, Ifeoluwa Oluwaloseyitan (Nee Alalade), with a large wooden plank in the eye and nose area. She has been blinded on the eye and left with several nose fractures while Mr. Babasanjo Alalade, attacked her husband, Pastor Abraham Oluwaloseyitan, with a machete to the head whilst he was trying to save his wife. Other siblings who were seriously beaten and assaulted, were left with several injuries.

Ifeoluwa has been undergoing several surgeries at the General Hospital, Ikeja, where her entire eye socket is been rebuilt. She awaits further surgeries from ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) surgeons at the same hospital.
All would have expected a Barrister at law to follow due process and appear in court respectfully rather than resolving to a brutal assault on a lady and violence against their fellow brothers. It is suspected that Barrister Olusegun Alalade and Babasanjo Alalade has, again, been attempting to fraudulently sell the 3-acre Estate on Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja and other properties of Late Chief Daniel Okunola Alalade.
The Alalade family from Ada, popularly known to be a peaceful and united extended family, are all shocked and disappointed that one of their most read and educated sons could lead such an attack on his siblings in the home where they all grew up.

TVC, comedian Julius Agwu came after a lot of his colleagues in the comedy/entertainment industry. He spoke about how the devil locked his books, CDs and albums from selling well in the market. He said the devil "tied the mouth" of some of entertainers including Basketmouth, Timaya, Duncan Mighty and Teju Babyface from giving him credit as the one who gave them their first opportunities in Lagos.

He said he met Banky W in New York and advised him to relocate. He also claimed he was the one who encouraged DonJazzy and Dbanj to leave their foreign base and come back to Nigeria to develop their brands. More after the cut...

He said the devil's primary target is entertainers. He said a lot of musicians are now comfortable with releasing one single and then releasing two single mothers as the devil has put in their head that getting married will decrease their female fan base. He said that Azuh Arinze and Okey Bakassi are his true friends, others are his colleagues...as most of them are very disloyal.

He said he's starting something called CEO, Christian Entertainers Outreach as he believes the devil wants to steal the Nigerian entertainment industry. Watch the interview below and tell us what you think...

FORGET LINDAIKEJI! Meet Nigeria’s Super Bloggers Who Make (wait for it) N20m Plus A Month

A growing community of young Nigerian bloggers is leading the way in Nigeria’s new media revolution

Ikeji (Linda Ikeji’s blog), Aloba (Maestromedia) and Bello (Onobello).
Tosin Ajibade’s fingers were busy on the keypad of her Apple iPad. She frantically strung words underneath the memorable pictures she had just taken at an award ceremony held at the Tafawa Balewa Square auditorium, Lagos. She immediately posted the words via her blog, olorisupergal.blogspot.com real time and synchronised them on her Twitter acccount. The reactions were instant and numerous.

For Ajibade, blogging has become a way of life. The young lady, now widely known by her name, OloriSupergal, spends most of her waking hours writing stories, updating her postings and searching for interesting content. And she is fast becoming a hit among numerous visitors to her 100 per cent entertainment website – visitors scouring for information on the Nigerian showbiz scene.

A leading light in the new media revolution in Nigeria is Uche Eze-Pedro. Her creation, Bella Naija, started out in 2005 as a blog, but has been upgraded to a full website with vast audience that spans from Ghana to Canada. There is a chance that four out of 10 web surfers have stumbled upon her blog, which basically is a lifestyle site. Bella Naija takes a look at the diary of the Nigerian social and fashion scene. The site has been doing so well it recently attracted mention in a CNN documentary.
In 2010, celebrity blogger, Abiola Aloba got bitten by the blog bug while still editing Encomium

Lifestyle, a special publication of the Encomium magazine. Many ideas, he said, were then running on his mind, ideas he could not execute as an employee. Aloba felt he was being stifled. He needed a platform that would give him independence and relevance, and blogging readily came to mind, thus the birth of maestromedia.blogspot.com. Within two years, the fashion writer cum photographer is not regretting dumping his salaried job for the world of the geek. Now, his blog is a hit among visitors yearning for news and information on fashion, socialites and celebrity parties.

Linda Ikeji has earned herself the sobriquet of ‘Queen of Blogging’. Prior to joining the frenzied world of e-stories, the University of Lagos English Language graduate was a fashion columnist for a struggling celebrity magazine. After two years of toiling in the news room, she quit. As Linda couldn’t stop writing, which has become a passion, blogging provided a relief route. She, therefore, created linda Ikeji’s blog in 2005. For five years, she worked her fingers on the keypad to the bone, posting  various topics and subjects that included music, movies, fashion, gossip and even sex issues, with no financial returns. But she persisted until 2010, when some of the stories posted on her blog began to ruffle feathers. At a point, Linda averaged about 1 million unique visitors each month to her blog. And with that came the much-needed recognition and substantial earnings. In August 2012, Forbes Africa described her as a success and a case study for the business of blogging.

With over 400 blogs and full websites focusing on various subjects that span politics, music, movies, fashion, sports, gossips and lifestyle, Nigeria now has one of the most dynamic blogging communities in Africa. Analysts said the numbers could triple by 2015 with the uncontrolled slide of the influence of mainstream media and the opening of a new vista of market opportunities for bloggers who are reaching a wider number of target audience. Meeting these challenges has made many to upgrade to a full website by registering their own domain names. “Blogspot.com limits you in many ways as it does not allow for various segments. More people and corporate brands seriously want to associate with websites that are very credible and reliable. They prefer sites that have excellent service delivery in terms of the quality and reliability of the information disseminated via their websites,” Ajibade said.

Terrence Sambo, a stylist and blogger, believes fashion sites have made fashion to be more democratic. “There is a lot of social media influence. Technology has made the business of fashion journalism a lot more democratic. Video presentations are becoming a lot more commonplace these days on many blogs, along with live streaming of shows. A lot more people are able to connect with the industry real time, rather than wait to buy monthly magazines,” said Sambo, founder of onenigerianboy.com and editor of Men’s Style Blog.

The rise in the number of bloggers in Nigeria is already yielding positive implications with a number of big-time information technology companies such as Microsoft and Google setting offices in Nigeria. This also means improved technical output and more revenue for bloggers.
TheNEWS investigations revealed that apart from building social capital, blogging has made many millionaires. Many more Nigerians are making regular income from blogging; many, indeed, quit their jobs to become full time bloggers. This revenue is coming through Google Adsense and individual advertisers. The entire e-community in Nigeria is said to be worth over N100 million, and still growing strongly as the advertisers’ base spikes.
Bella Naija is believed to be the most financially healthy. Their revenue comes from advertising, including series of lucrative partnerships with many blue chip companies and event organisers. With a full-functional office in Maryland, Lagos, Uche and her blog net worth has been conservatively put at over N20mn.

Linda is reputed by e-business pundits to be one of Nigeria’s youngest millionaires. This is on account of the constant advertising patronage from small and multinational companies that patronise the lindaikeji blog. Though it is quite difficult to track down Linda’s total networth, she is, however, said to be worth over N10mn. Some expensive cars in her garage tell the story. “I am definitely doing very well as a blogger. I don’t have any other job; this is what sustains me 100 per cent now. Blogging has definitely opened doors for me. I have been invited to speak at forums and I have gone to places I would ordinarily only have dreamt about,” Linda said of her status as an accomplished blogger.

Founded in 2006 by Ademola Ogundele, notjustok.com is Nigeria’s premier music blog and most visited online platform. It delivers spanking new hip-hop/contemporary music, video and music content daily to Nigerians and the rest of the world. It has steadily grown into one of the most visited sites within the Nigerian online community. On the average, the site recorded over 1.6mn page views from over 520,000 visitors from 183 countries. Apart from generating millions as revenue from advertisers, the site also makes extra money selling digital albums that are usually released the same time they are released physically. Same goes for 360nobs.com founded by Noble Igwe, which also offers news and information on all things that are entertainment related. The networth of these two is not of public knowledge, but it is believed that individually, they rake in annual revenue in excess of over N10mn.

There are scores of other bloggers commanding high visits and breaking even within the blogsphere with  adverts lining their sidebars. They include thenetng.com, owned by Adekunle Ayeni; nairaland, owned by Oluwaseun Osewa; jaguda.com, premiumtimes.com, onobello.com, nigerianvillagesquare, youthng.com and passionhubsta.
Despite the rosy business painted of the blog initiative, some critics still consider as insignificant what many bloggers generate in terms of revenue. “Most Nigerian bloggers don’t make any real money online and it is a shame because the online market is quite large and I don’t see why we Nigerians shouldn’t get more out of the piece of the pie. The worth of the whole e-community in Nigeria is not up to what the likes of Huffington and lifehacker make in a quarter,” said Gbenga Adamolekun, an IT consultant.

Adamolekun added: “Few of them are making money because only few of them have anything compelling to say. Owning a blog is not the thing. Having something to say is the thing. Content is king. The reason why Nigerian bloggers are not making enough money online is because they don’t do much. But an average Nigerian blogger can earn more if they can up their contents and shun grotesquely distorting truth for fact on their portals.”
The bloggers are not unaware of the challenges. “I realised early enough that online was the next big thing as people now get information at the speed of light…I have been exposed to many international entertainment blogs and websites’ contents which tally with my own ideas and I thought I could replicate them in Nigeria. And it’s working. I have found the experience fantastic and interesting but time-consuming. Since there are many bloggers out there now, you’ll need to create a kind of niche for yourself to stay relevant and those who came for the fun of it would fade away with time,” Aloba told this magazine.

But to Linda, despite the shortcomings, bloggers in Nigeria have really tried. “No matter what, I think the key innovation blogs have been able to add to news reporting is that they shorten news and reports. People are bored stiff with the way most newspapers report and write about things. Besides, blogs allow readers to give instant feedback. People are going online with handheld devices, so they don’t have time for long reports that go on for pages…They want the main gist of the story. Just give them the five Ws. Make it brief and precise and straight to the point and you are in business,” Linda explained.

Obama Administration To Appeal Immigration Reform Setback To Supreme Court

The Obama administration on Tuesday said it would ask the Supreme Court to save the president's plan to shield as many as 5 million immigrants living in the United States illegally from deportation, after lower courts blocked it.
A federal appeals court in New Orleans on Monday upheld a Texas-based federal judge's injunction against President Barack Obama's plan. Obama has issued executive orders to protect from deportation parents whose children are citizens or legal permanent residents, along with other immigrants who came to the country illegally as children.

The Justice Department said Tuesday it disagrees with the 2-1 ruling by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and would appeal to the high court.
Republicans have criticized the plan as an illegal executive overreach since Obama announced it last November. Twenty-six states, 24 with Republican governors and the other two with Republican attorneys general, challenged the plan in court.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott praised the appeals court ruling.
“President Obama should abandon his lawless executive amnesty program and start enforcing the law today,” Abbott, a Republican, said in a news release.
The Obama administration has argued that the executive branch is within its rights in deciding to defer deportation of selected groups of immigrants, including children who were brought to the U.S. illegally.
“We strongly disagree with the 5th Circuit's decision,” the White House said in a statement. “The Supreme Court and Congress have made clear that the federal government can set priorities in enforcing our immigration laws.”
The ruling further dims prospects of implementation of the executive action before Obama leaves office in 2017. Appeals over the injunction could take months and, depending on how the case unfolds, it could go back to the Texas federal court for more proceedings.
Justice Department spokesman Patrick Rodenbush said in a statement that the department “remains committed to taking steps that will resolve the immigration litigation as quickly as possible” so that the Department of Homeland Security could prioritize “the removal of the worst offenders, not people who have long ties to the United States and who are raising American children.”
Part of the initiative includes expansion of a program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which protects young immigrants from deportation if they were brought to the U.S. illegally as children. The other major part, Deferred Action for Parents of Americans, would extend deportation protections to parents of U.S. citizens and permanent residents who have been in the country for years.
The 70-page majority opinion by Judge Jerry Smith, joined by Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod, rejected Obama administration arguments that the Texas judge abused his discretion with a nationwide order and that states lack standing to challenge Obama's executive orders.
They acknowledged an argument that an adverse ruling would discourage potential beneficiaries of the plan from cooperating with law enforcement authorities or paying taxes. “But those are burdens that Congress knowingly created, and it is not our place to second-guess those decisions,” Smith wrote.
In a 53-page dissent, Judge Carolyn Dineen King said the administration was within the law, casting the decision to defer action on some deportations as “quintessential exercises of prosecutorial discretion,” and noting that the Department of Homeland Security has limited resources.
“Although there are approximately 11.3 million removable aliens in this country today, for the last several years Congress has provided the Department of Homeland Security with only enough resources to remove approximately 400,000 of those aliens per year,” King wrote.

Nigeria on Wednesday finally got a new government after more than five months of waiting, as 36 ministers and junior ministers swore the oath of allegiance and were assigned formal roles.

The ceremony at President Muhammadu Buhari's official residence in the capital, Abuja, brought to an end 166 days in which he has effectively been in sole charge of Africa's leading economy.

Buhari described the appointments as a "milestone" and indicated it had taken so long to decide because of the need to put "round pegs in round holes" with the right people for the job.

President Muhammadu Buhari says he is confident that members of his cabinet will perform well on the tasks assigned to them because they are “round pegs in round holes”. The president said this after administering the oath of allegiance to the ministers at the presidential villa, and added that in choosing them, he avoided mistakes of the past, where ministers performed poorly. ‎

“Today we witness the swearing-in of new ministers of the government of the federal republic of Nigeria,” he said. ‎ “We want to work towards a prosperous nation respected for the right reasons, and whose citizens can hold up their heads anywhere in the world.‎ “We are optimistic that bringing these set of ministers into the service of our country today is a step in the right direction and timely move towards realising our positive goals for our country. ‎

Labour and Employment Minister Chris Ngige (from left), Budget and National Planning Minister Udo Udo Udoma, Federal Capital Territory Minister Muhammadu Bel...

“Since we assumed office in May, I had been mindful of the need to ensure that the appointment of new ministers translate into a round pegs in round holes while showing sensitivity to our diversity as a people and our various positions as groups of stakeholders of our country. “I have also been conscious of the need not to repeat such mistakes of the past where the right people were allocated the wrong portfolios, which translated into their performing poorly to our collective detriment despite their obvious capability.”

He assigned portfolios to all the 36 ministers, contrary to speculations that some ministers would be members of the federal executive council (FEC), but without offices.
