Mannequins and rails of clothes were sent flying and trampled on by activists as they stormed shops across Johannesburg and demanded the retailer shut its doors or face ‘indefinite’ action.
Innocent shoppers and bystanders were forced to flee as chanting gangs wearing uniforms of the country’s radical opposition party swept through at H&M stores across the city, including Africa’s flagship store in the upmarket suburb of Sandton.
Floyd Shivambu, spokesman for the Economic Freedom Fighters party, praised the action, saying the retailer was ‘now facing the consequences for its racism’.
Earlier this week, H&M was forced to apologise and order a mass withdrawal of stock after publishing an advert depicting a black boy wearing a green hoodie emblazoned with ‘coolest monkey in the jungle’ triggered outrage.
A Nigerian Lady, Gloria Omommaty Kennedy has aired out her frustration after “all the fine boys with cars” in her church left immediately after service ended.

Few days ago, Nigerian media went agog with news of Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele becoming part of the cast for yet to be released Hollywood superhero film“Avengers: Infinity War”.
The actress’ name was added to the movie’s website, and given the role of a member of the Black Panther’s guards, the ‘Dora Milaje’.
Funke started trending on twitter and many of her fans praised her for the hardwork and consistency she’d put in the industry so far.
However, while we were still basking in the euphoria that our very own Jenifa was about to become a global star, we were hit with the news that the actress was never contacted to feature in the movie.

The sources further revealed that the actress couldn’t acknowledge the report after it broke on Wednesday, because no role pass was made to her. The hacker’s mess has been fixed, and that’s why she’s no longer on the cast list for the movie.
Avengers: Infinity War is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers.

162 passengers were saved from death after a Pegasus plane luckily escaped plunging into the black sea after crashing.The fully-booked passenger plane came within yards of plunging into the Black Sea when it skidded off an icy runway while trying to land, The Sun UK reported.
Luckily, the jet's 162 passengers escaped when the wheels of their Pegasus Airlines flight dug into the freezing mud at Trabzon Airport - leaving it dangling precariously off a coastal cliff.
Turkish officials said the cause of the accident was not yet known, and closed the airport overnight to conduct an investigation.

A murder investigation has been launched after a Nigerian teenager was stabbed and died from his injuries in Chislehurst, South east London. Oluwadamilola Odeyingbo, 18, died on Wednesday, January 10, of injuries he received during a reported fight in Empress Drive just after 9pm the previous evening. Police were called on Tuesday, 9 January to reports of a fight on Empress Drive. Officers attended to the victim. He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a south a London Hospital where he passed away. A post-mortem examination began on Friday, January 12, but has not been finished. As part of the investigation, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday, and has been bailed until early February.
Police are appealing for information. Detective Chief Inspector Tim Wright said:
“We understand that neighbours and people passing through the area witnessed the incident on Tuesday evening. We are keen to speak to all witnesses and would encourage them to come forward as soon as possible. A young man has lost his life and we are doing everything we can to piece together what took place.”
According to Twitter user, Femo, his aunt, the boy’s mother had left Nigeria to the UK to get a better life.

Exotic properties inside the mansion such golden chairs and tables, expensive fabrics, rugs, electronics, electrical appliances, abandoned vehicles and others worth millions of naira were said to have remained intact because robbers were avoiding the place. PM Express tried to find out why it was so despite the fact that robbers would have made a fortune from there going by the reported high rate of crime in the area, especially in the immediate community. Some of the residents explained that any robber who broke into the mansion may be in serious danger over the story that the Late Okafor had an issue with the dreaded Okija shrine. It was gathered then that Okafor might have attracted the anger of the deity and died due to his failure to come to the shrine to defend himself over a report by one of his kinsmen who reportedly dragged him to the shrine over business transaction which he alleged that Okafor had cheated him.

It could not be verified whether the shrine killed Okafor or not, despite the fact that some believed it happened. However, it was gathered that if any person died as a result of any issue or altercation with the deity in Igbo land such like the Okija shrine, automatically all the properties belonged to that shrine unless certain rituals were performed. The late Okafor also known as ‘Udu Bunch’ died in December 1999 after he had an accident around Okija town, few kilometers to his village when he was returning for Christmas and to celebrate his birthday. His death came with controversies which led to the collapse of his immediate family and business empire. His wife, Nkechi reportedly abandoned the family and remarried. The will ‘Ezego’ had prepared was not read because the lawyer who prepared the will one Barrister Barnabas Igwe was brutally murdered with his wife.

A man had to endure pain for 12 hours after he got his penis stuck in a ring. The man, who is in his 20s, sought medical help after he failed to remove the ring, and was sent to Penang Hospital. Fire and Rescue Department personnel were called to remove the ring at the hospital, at around 10.30am on Sunday.

The ancient town of Oyo State was in frenzy on Saturday, January 13th, 2018, as Otunba Gani Adams was installed as the 15th Aare Ona kakanfo Of Yoruba Land.
The Durbar Stadium, Oyo State, venue of the installation was filled to capacity of eminent personalities across the country. The carnival-like occasion which was witnessed by a mammoth crowd was the first of its kind in recent times, as many of those who came to witness the event were asked to go to the stand installed with viewing screens.
In a statement signed by Alaafin of Oyo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi titled, “The Making of New Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland”, the monarch noted that since the demise of Aare Moshood Olawale Kashimawo Abiola, there has been pressure from different quarters to install another Aare.
He said that he took his time to look for another war hero known in Yoruba language as ‘Akinkanju’ pointing out that, “After years of searching and consulting, it gives me great pleasure today to announce that we have finally zeroed our dragnet on a distinguished son of Oduduwa, a Yoruba in whom there is no guile. Alaafin, who prayed never to witness the successor of Gani Adams, urged for unity among the people of the South West said, “Today, Gani Adams has been christened and henceforth, he shall be known as, “Aare Ona Kakanfo”.
In his acceptance speech after completing all spiritual rites and his installation, Adams, who noted that there couldn’t be a more humbling occasion for him than his installation as Aare Ona Kakanfo said, “my installation as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo is a challenge that has made all past challenges seem like a child’s play.
“I offer myself for service once it is for the advancement of the Yoruba race. The various groups in the South-West should also resolve their crises. I will also persuade seven of our elders, who are not partisan, to work with me in uniting all Yoruba and resolve differences wherever they may arise. I want to assure all that as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo, I will use my position, God willing, to protect the interest of our land and our dear country Nigeria”, said Aare Gani Adams.
Traditional rulers and chiefs in their hundreds witnessed the epoch-making occasion.
However, the Ooni of Ife, and some other notable monarchs in the South West were conspicuously absent.
Among the traditional rulers in attendance were: Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogungunniso 1, who led the Olubadan-in-Council to the milestone event; Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, was represented by the white cap chiefs led by Chief Adesoji Ajao; the Oyo Mesi, and some of the twenty-one Ibadan Obas newly installed by the Oyo State Government were also in attendance; Oba of Arigidi in Ondo State, Dr. Yisa Olanipekun; Olofa of Ofa, Oba Mufutau Muhammed Oloyede Gbadamosi; Elese of Igbaja, Oba Ahmed Awuni Arepo; the Olubaka of Okaland, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye; and the Ahaba of Ajagba, Oba Thomas Oluwole Adesayo.
Also in attendance was the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who arrived at the venue at exactly 1:50pm, Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Mr Agboola Ajayi represented Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu; Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi represented Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State.
Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan represented Governor Akinwunmi Ambode; and Osun State Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti stood in for Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
Former governors were also not left out of the event as Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, and Mr Emmanuel Uduaghan of Oyo, Ondo, and Delta States respectively graced the occasion. Other attendees include, Senator Monsura Sumonu representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Chief Niyi Akintola (SAN), Elder statesman, Chief Ayo Adebanjo; activist and spokesperson of the Pan Yoruba Socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Mr.Yinka Odumakin; Chief Yemi Elebuibo, and Yeye Oge of Kwara and Osun States.
